Washington DC [US] : On Friday, US President Donald Trump asserted that he maintains an excellent connection with Pakistan, remarking that Pakistan is “doing terrifically well” when asked about a possible intervention in the continuing conflict between Pakistan and Afghanistan.

Tensions between Kabul and Islamabad have risen, with both sides accusing the other of retaliation strikes, heightening concerns about a larger military war in the region.
While Islamabad declared “open war” on Kabul after conducting airstrikes in Kabul, Kandahar, and Paktia, tensions between the two neighbouring nations grew.

According to Tolo News, Pakistan’s Information Minister, Attaullah Tarar, previously stated that Afghanistan carried out drone operations in Abbottabad, Swabi, and Nowshera.
He further stated that anti-drone systems brought down the drones, and that no lives were lost.

Following border confrontations, Pakistan’s government issued a statewide ban on all drone activities. According to Geo News, the Ministry of Interior has issued a notification prohibiting all commercial and privately controlled drones across the country.
Earlier, Afghanistan’s Ministry of Defence stated that the drone strikes targeted key military installations in Pakistan.
According to the Afghanistan Ministry of Defence, the country’s air force launched strikes on multiple military sites in Pakistan around 11:00 a.m. on Friday .
According to ministry officials cited by Tolo News, the attacks targeted a military base in Faizabad in Islamabad, a military headquarters in Nowshera, the garrison hamlet of Jamrud, and Abbottabad.
According to the statement, the operation was successful, with targets included significant Pakistani army bases, centers, and facilities.
The Ministry of Defence stated that the operations were carried out in reprisal for “aerial incursions” by Pakistani military troops.
