Afghan Policy Row : Maulana Fazlur Rehman, the chief of Pakistan’s Jamiat Ulema e Islam Fazl, has launched a harsh attack on the country’s military and its handling of escalating militancy, questioning how terrorists were able to enter Pakistan but even basic items from Afghanistan could not.
Rehman made the remarks during a public gathering in Rawalpindi on Sunday, amid Islamabad’s frequent allegations that jihadists were invading the nation from Afghanistan. The speaker questioned why Afghan governments, from Zahir Shah to today’s Amarat e Islamiyah, have been unable to collaborate with Pakistan.
Afghan Policy Row : Afghanistan’s policy has been failing for years.
“Different people arrived, including a communist administration, a jihadist-led governing, the Taliban dictatorship, and pro-Pakistanis. However, before criticizing, have you ever considered why my Afghan policy has failed for the past 78 years? Rehman inquired.
In response to official accusations that terrorists were crossing across from Afghanistan, he stated, “If they are coming, stop them, eliminate them.” “The Afghan government has never opposed your actions.
“How are extremists infiltrating?
The JUI-F chairman highlighted what he saw as a blatant paradox, claiming that “not even a single pomegranate or melon from Afghanistan can enter Pakistan, and yet terrorists enter the country.”

Rehman also criticized Pakistan’s overall foreign policy, labeling it a “failure” and claiming that Islamabad’s diplomacy has harmed the country.
“We are fighting with India, there are issues with Afghanistan, China is furious, and so is Iran. And in this context, they believe they are waging Pakistan’s war,” he added, adding that all that had been done was to “destroy” the nation.
His comments came in the wake of a suicide attack at a Shiite Muslim mosque in Islamabad, which killed at least 31 people. The blast injured more than 170 people.
According to Reuters, the attacker opened fire at the mosque’s gates before detonating the suicide device after guards stopped him as he attempted to enter the Khadija Tul Kubra Imambargah premises.
