Ilhan Omar Event Disrupted in Minnesota After Man Sprays Liquid

During a town hall in Minneapolis on Tuesday, a man charged at Democratic U.S. Representative Ilhan Omar and sprayed her with a foul-smelling liquid after she decried the conduct of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement in Minnesota.

A man charged at the US lawmaker at the lectern and sprayed a torrent of liquid at her. A massive man grabbed him and dragged him to the ground. Omar made a few steps toward the man with her hand outstretched before he was apprehended, and she resumed her presentation after a little pause.

Ilhan Omar Incident: Police Action and Witness Accounts

According to Minneapolis police, authorities on the scene saw the man spray Omar with an unknown liquid from a syringe. Police detained him for third-degree assault and stated that Omar was unharmed. According to authorities, forensic scientists were called in to process the scene.

“He sprayed something on her,” a woman at the town hall was heard saying, while at least one woman commented on the bad smell. “I need a napkin,” Omar commented as the man was led away, before she added, “We will continue.”

Ilhan Omar Criticizes ICE Before Attack

Omar was criticizing ICE and Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem when the guy charged at her and demanded her resignation in the aftermath of the shooting deaths of two American citizens in Minneapolis in recent weeks during President Donald Trump’s immigration enforcement crackdown.

“ICE cannot be reformed, rehabilitated, we must abolish ICE for good, and DHS Secretary Kristi Noem must resign or face impeachment,” Omar stated as the town hall audience applauded.

The man then lunged at her, spraying her with the liquid and telling her, “You must resign.”
