NTA ( National Testing Agency) has instructed candidates to validate their identification proof in PDF format submitted during the Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) Main 2026 registration process by January 15, 2026.

According to an official notification from the NTA

According to an official notification from the NTA, “some applicants registered using identification proof documents other than the Aadhaar Card. In several circumstances, the live images taken by candidates during the application procedure did not match the photographs in UIDAl’s records.

“The NTA has given such affected applicants with a chance to verify their identity by uploading a signed and attested certificate, along with a recent photograph duly certified by their school/college principal or headmaster,” according to the notice.

“However, considering complaints received from applicants regarding non-accessibility of few verifying officials, applicants are now permitted to obtain attestation from a Class-I Gazetted Officer, such as Tehsildar, Revenue Officer, SDM, DM / Class-I Gazetted Officer of the Indian Embassy (for NRI candidates),” read the notification.

The city intimidation will be released in the first week of January, and the JEE Main 2026 exam will begin on January 21. Candidates might be admitted to engineering and architecture programs after meeting the requirements.

The NTA administers JEE Main, a national entrance exam for applicants to undergraduate engineering and architecture programs in India. It is used for admission to NITs, IIITs, CFTIs, and many other engineering institutes, as well as the qualifying exam for JEE Advanced, which is necessary for IIT admission. The exam primarily assesses students in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics and is typically administered online twice a year, allowing students to improve their performance.
