Stockton Shooting : A shooting at a family gathering at a banquet hall in Stockton killed at least four people and injured ten more, officials said Saturday. Heather Brent, a spokesperson for the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office, said the victims comprised both youngsters and adults.

The incident occurred in the banquet facility, which shares a parking lot with numerous other companies.
Early results “suggest this may have been a targeted incident,” she added during a news briefing at the scene.
Detectives are currently investigating to discover the motivation. Authorities have not revealed any additional information about the victims’ conditions, however several were transferred to hospitals earlier.
San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office on Shooting
According to a post on X, the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office is now investigating a gunshot in the 1900 block of Lucile Avenue in Stockton. Several patients have been sent to local hospitals.

Vice Mayor reacts
Stockton Vice Mayor Jason Lee stated that the incident occurred at a child’s birthday party. In a Facebook post, he wrote, “Tonight, my heart feels heavy in a manner that is difficult to describe. As the Vice Mayor of Stockton and someone who grew up in this city, I am horrified and enraged to learn about the mass shooting at a child’s birthday celebration. An ice cream shop should never be a place where families fear for their safety.”
“Violence impacted my life as a young person, and witnessing our own children, parents, and neighbors go through this really rattles me. Stockton is where I call home. This is what our families look like. Our community is here. I’m speaking with staff and public safety personnel to figure out what happened, and I’ll be pushing for answers. Our community needs to know the truth, and the families affected deserve justice and every resource available to assist them.”
