IMD Weather Alert November 2025: The nation is now experiencing winter. Winter is gradually arriving. For the upcoming week beginning on November 23, 2025, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has released a weather bulletin (IMD Weather Alert November 2025). The Meteorological Department reports that cold winds are still being caused by a western disturbance in the northwest. South India will see rain due to the formation of a new low pressure region in the Bay of Bengal. The weather in the South is changing, according to the Meteorological Department. In the next 48 hours, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Kerala may get significant rainfall due to the low pressure in the Bay of Bengal.

In areas where 100–150 mm of rain could fall within a day, the IMD has issued red and orange alerts (India Red Orange Alert). With temperatures between 25 and 28 degrees Celsius, flooding is predicted in Kochi and Chennai.

The Meteorological Department reports that fog and cold are plaguing North India. For the next three days, Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh will see dense fog. With visibility predicted to fall to 50 meters in the morning and evening, the IMD has issued a red alert. The average temperature will be between 8 and 12 degrees Celsius, with a minimum of 4 to 6 degrees. Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir are predicted to get light snowfall.

Eastern and western regions experience mixed weather: Bihar is cold, while Maharashtra is sunny.

The Meteorological Department predicts that Bihar, Jharkhand, and Odisha will get light rain along with an increase in cold in eastern India. Humidity will make it feel muggy even though the temperature will stay between 15 and 20 degrees Celsius. The weather in Western states like Gujarat, Rajasthan, and Maharashtra will be generally dry. Mumbai may have light drizzle, but the temperature will stay between 24 and 30 degrees. Rajasthan’s desert regions will be warm at night and sunny throughout the day.

Where was it cold and where did it rain last week?

South India saw the most rainfall last week, from November 16 to November 22, 2025. Tamil Nadu, Kerala, coastal Andhra Pradesh, and Rayalaseema all saw heavy to extremely heavy rainfall. 100 to 200 mm of rain fell on cities including Chennai, Kochi, and Trivandrum, flooding highways and causing circumstances similar to flooding. While there was virtually little rainfall in North India, light to moderate rainfall persisted throughout the week in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Rajasthan, Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh all stayed dry.

On November 17–19, only the western regions of Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh in central India saw light showers; the remainder of the region stayed dry. In general, the north only saw fog and cold, and the rain was limited to the south.
