Trump : Today, US President Donald Trump plans to meet with ‘communist’ New York City Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani at the White House. On the eve of the election on November 4, Trump warned that a Mamdani victory would be a “complete and total economic and social disaster” for New York. Trump has frequently criticized Mamdani’s proposals.
This will be their first meeting since Mamdani, an Indian-origin immigrant, won New York City’s mayoral race earlier this month.

The New York Times reports that President Trump has been denouncing Zohran Mamdani for weeks as a communist, an extreme, and a threat to New York City. Additionally, he has maintained that he is “much better looking” than Mamdani, who is 34.
However, according to two persons who spoke about the President’s remarks under condition of anonymity, Trump has privately referred to Mamdani, the current mayor-elect of New York City, as a gifted politician and called him slick and a terrific talker.

Mamdani became the first Muslim and South Asian to be elected to lead the biggest city in the United States after winning the hotly contested race for mayor of New York City.
He had been the front-runner for months in the NYC Mayoral race, defeating both political heavyweight former New York State Governor Andrew Cuomo, who campaigned as an independent and received formal Trump endorsement just hours before the election, and Republican nominee Curtis Sliwa.
